Should seniors play on senior night?
I completely agree that the idea that every senior should play on senior night is not realistic and should not be expected. Our coaches have other goals for the team that often take priority over individual seniors. I think it’s important to remember that and not get too disappointed if we don’t get to play on senior night.
There are many products and pieces of equipment that can help make life easier for seniors. A personal alert system is a great way to make sure help is always nearby in an emergency. Toilet seat risers can make it easier to get up and down, and grab bars can help prevent falls. Angela Marriot, event planner and party decorator, believes that “ senior night should be a celebration of the graduate’s personality.” She advises keeping the decoration theme simple, “Choose two or three colors that represent the graduate’s favorite things and use those colors throughout the party space.” Balloons are always a welcome decoration at any party, so Marriot recommends using them in moderation. She also suggests using photographs of the graduate throughout their life as additional decoration. No matter what decorations are used, Marriot believes that “senior night should be a memorable event for everyone involved.”
